Richard Morton

Richard Morton has been with the Haven Gateway for five years, during which time he has spearheaded a series of innovative projects to promote the Partnership and the ports, shipping and logistics industry in the region, throughout Europe and in China.

He has set up initiatives to strengthen recruitment, skills and training within the region's shipping sector and has recently been appointed chairman of the education and careers committee for Sea Vision UK, the campaign to raise awareness and understanding of the sea and maritime activities.

Richard led the Haven Gateway as a key member of the EC's three-year €1.7 million Port-Net project.  Following this, he successfully led the UK bid for Dryport, a new €4.8 million European project looking at the role hinterland intermodal freight transport hubs can play in maximising the capacity and efficiency of seaports.

In addition Richard also Project Manages other projects including Growth Point projects such as The Haven Gateway Water Cycle Study and other independent projects such as the Harwich-Felixstowe Foot Ferry, and managing the Haven Gateway's promotion of the sub-region as a Cruise destination.
