Rural Commercial Regeneration, £85,000, lead partner Tendring DC.
The project bridges the gap in the current mainstream provision business support by engaging an advisor to carry out a range of acitivities including breaking down perceived barriers between planning profesionals and business clients and raising awareness of planning issues within the business community.
One of the outcomes of the project was the production of a Farmers Guide To Planning to guide businesses and farmers through the planning process. To view a copy of the guide click here.
Learning Champions £103,687, managed by the Akenham Partnership.
This project offers the chance for businesses to support the development of a member, or members, of staff who can actively encourage and organsi training and learning within the organisations. Aimed at SME's and based on the successful union devised Learning Reps programme.
Basic Skills now called Moving on in Logistics Recruitment £60,700, led by Suffolk College.
This is a pilot scheme that will employee a unique approach to ensuring new employees to the Ports and Logistics sector have the basic skills they need whilst providing a pathway for those learners to learning providers.
Passport to Success £55,000, managed by Suffolk Education Business Partnership.
A pilot scheme based around face to face and e-mentoring young people who are seeking to enter employment or vocational training. It will target young people with an interest in seekin gemployment and/or trainng within the Haven Gateway sub-region.
Construction Broker now called Construction Initiatives Development Manager, £88,798, lead partner Colchester BC.
The project will employee an individual to facilitate and bring together the construction industry and its approach to recruitment and training accross the Haven Gateway sub-region.
DIDO £158,560, led by Suffolk County Council.
The overall aim of this project is to increase the numbers of women that have access to non-traditional employment opporuntities. The are two dimensions to achieving this aim, the first is its role as an influencer of mainstram activity and secondly as a deliverer of awareness training and IAG to the target group.

Marine Leisure Studies: Research and Production of an Economic Impact Study of the Marine Leisure Industry within the Haven Gateway Sub-region and Research and Production of a Feasibility Study into the development of a Marine Leisure Skills Academy.
Ports & Logistics Business Plan for establisment of a Ports and Logistics Academy within the sub-region and Ports & Logistics engagement activity.
Shotley Peninsular Learning Pilot, £30,750, tender awarded to Suffolk TAP. Activity will be commissioned based on research findings.
CAPITAL FUNDING
Expansion of Thomas Road Campus, Colchester Institute, £125,000.
This project will increase the vocational training capacity of the site. This will provide provision for a further 125 learners and add three further vocational areas; carpentry and joinery, childcare and hospitality and catering.
Management Fee £97,505. This fee will be spent on deepening the IiC Evidence Base in line with EEDA’s requirements, on LSP capacity initiative which is currently under development, engagement and management tasks.
