Transport & Infrastructure

The transport network both within the sub-region and within the rest of the UK are of critical importance for future growth.

The Partnership has continued to press for the investment to secure the completion of the Felixstowe to Nuneaton rail link (F2N).  Existing schemes, to be funded in part by Hutchison Ports UK under their consent to redevelop the Felixstowe port complex, will still not enable the final link to the West Coast mainline to be completed.  The Partnership, working closely with a range of organisations, including East of England Development Agency and the Rail Freight Group is pushing for early funding to complete this route.

The road network including the A120, A12 and A14 are also high priorities.  Building upon studies already completed the partnership has identified the significant transport infrastructure items that need to be completed and new initiatives to make a transformational change to the transport architecture of the region.

The Partnership has agreed to develop details of these projects to enable them to be properly evaluated and funding gaps identified.
