Growth Point Projects


Between 2008 and 2011, the Haven Gateway was responsible for the allocation of over £15 million of funding from the Government under the Growth Point investment programme.

What did this Growth Point funding achieve?
 
  • It improved the sub regional evidence base (for LDF preparations/bidding for transport funding)

 
  • Ipswich Transport Model
  • Colchester/Tendring Land Use model
  • Several detailed transport studies/infrastructure delivery plans
  • Suffolk Haven Gateway Employment land Review
  • Brantham Industrial site studies
  • Suffolk Sandlings study
 
  • It provided support for master planning in key areas of change throughout the sub region:

 
  • Colchester, St Botolph’s
  • North Colchester
  • East Colchester
  • IP One in Ipswich
  • Coastal Towns: Pin Mill, Walton on the Naze, Harwich, Clacton and Felixstowe
  • Stowmarket and Sudbury
  • Green Infrastructure
 
  • It achieved a major impact on “place” through delivery of key master plan project elements in:

 
  • Colchester, St Botolph’s
  • North Colchester
  • East Colchester
  • IP One in Ipswich
  • Coastal Towns: Pin Mill, Walton on the Naze, Harwich, Clacton and Felixstowe
  • Stowmarket and Sudbury
  • Green Infrastructure
 

Overall it levered in an initial £55 million of match funding with the prospect of much more to come
