Government confirms £3.9m Growth Funding for 2010/11 - £15.54m in total for 2008-11
14/01/2010
Following a short period of consultation, John Healey, Minister for Housing and Planning, has confirmed that the Haven Gateway will receive £3,464,424 for capital Growth Funding for 2010/11, a total of £14,118,053 for the three years 2008/09 - 2010/11.
At the Haven Gateway December Board meeting, in anticipation for this, the Board agreed a revised capital investment programme and confirmed funding for our 3 strategic priority projects:
- A12 Junction at Cuckoo Farm and Northern Approaches
- Flood Defence for Ipswich
- Innovation Martlesham

We have also Provided funding for a range of other projects listed set out within our investment plan. On the basis of these changes, the Board agreed that deliverability of projects by March 2011 was an increasingly significant factor and consequently the Board would look to accelerate spending over the coming 12 months to demonstrate that Growth Funding was being spent appropriately on key 'oven-ready' infrastructure priorities.
In doing so, this will increase our claim for further Growth Funding in the next spending round (2011-2014).
In addition, £414,888 of revenue funding will be received in 2010/11, a total for the 3 years of £1,422,473.
