Innovation Martlesham Announces Student Film Competition

IPSWICH, UK – Innovation Martlesham, the high-tech cluster for ICT companies based at BT’s Innovation and Design campus at Adastral Park, announced today that it is holding a student film competition.  The winning films will be screened at a special event at Innovation Martlesham and will feature on YouTube and the Innovation Martlesham website: www.innovationmartlesham.com.

The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over and in full time education with an innovative idea.  Entry films need to be inspirational thought provoking and innovative.  Films needs to be 30 seconds in length and can be submitted in any digital format.  The closing date to receive entries is 31 May 2011.

All film makers who are shortlisted as a prize winner or a highly commended will be invited with guests to a screening of the finalists’ films and the prize giving ceremony.

“Our project is all about innovation at Martlesham but the economic benefits of our ICT cluster should be felt by a much wider community”, said Graham Reid the Director of Innovation.  “Reaching out to the local Universities and colleges with the student film competition with cash prizes and recognition is one example of the benefits.  It is also a great way to harness the natural creativity of young people to explore what innovation means to different people.   And you never know, today’s student film maker might be tomorrow’s digital entrepreneur.”
