'On Landguard Point' East of England winner

The Arts Council and London 2012, announced today that 'On Landguard Point' developed by the Pacitti Company, has been selected as the East of England winner of the £500,000 commission for Artists Taking the Lead - one of the major projects for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
The project include:
- a series of events eg at Landguard Fort
- 205 flags of the Olympics being flown around the coast
- 4 feasts each for 1000 people
- direct engagement with young people
- the production of a feature film to be premiered at the Norfolk & Norwich festival in May 2012 - directed I believe by Michael Nyman
As the only short listed artist in the sub-region, the Partnership lobbied and supported the project, and has been named as one of the project's strategic partners.
This is clearly great news in raising the profile of the sub-region's cultural offer and we look forward to continued working with the Pacitti Company as we move closer to 2012.
