International Trade
International Trade forms an important part of the Haven Gateway economy. As the major Gateway into and out of the UK for trade primarily through the Ports of Harwich, Felixstowe, Ipswich, Mistley and Harwich Navyyard.
The Haven Gateway through it's Business Forum aims to promote the Haven Gateway as a centre of Business Excellence. To achieve this it works closely with it's partner organisations to ensure Business has access to the services to support in import and Export of goods and regularly organises events to promote key trade areas. The Haven Gateway currently promotes itself as the;
Gateway to the Far East
- Work with Essex County Council on Logistics seminars in Jiangsu Province
- Develop trade links with Luohe City in Henan Province in association with Ipswich Borough Council, UCS and Chamber of Commerce
Gateway to the Baltic
- Seminar on Baltic Trade for local business
- Trade mission to three Baltic States with Seminar in each country, Estonia Lithuania and Latvia with the support of the British Chambers of Commerce in each country, UKTI and EEI
- Link to Baltic Cruise shipping services out of Harwich
Gateway to the Middle East
- Seminar on Middle East Trade
- Trade mission to Middle East
