Kesgrave Grange Lane Cycle Link

Date Started: 01/04/2009

Date Ended: 31/03/2011

Growth Point

Adoption of Grange Lane as a Public Highway and construction of a new road surface providing cycle/pedestrian facilities as well as standard vehicular access.

Scope of the Project

Grange Lane provides vehicular access to the residental properties along its length from Dobbs Lane but is effectively a cul-de-sac for vehicles.  Grange Lane also provides a through route for cyclists and pedestrians and this project will provide a new surface for cyclists and pedestrians.

Aim

Reinstatement of cycle route to suitable standard.  Failure to do so will lead to accidents and a reduction in the number of cyclists.

Outcomes

The scheme will encourage greater use of walking and cycling, both to the local schools and to nearby centres of employment.  This will help deliver a reduction in congestion over a prolonged period.  It will also address identified negative perceptions and satisfaction with the area.
