Trimley to Felixstowe Cycle Route

The project will provide a signed and lined, mostly on road-cycle lanes between Felixstowe and Trimley. Part of the route already exists and this project will complete missing sections.
Project Scope
The project will complete signing and lining of the on road sections of the route and will provide a complete link between the two communities. Further funding bids are underway for the off road civils work needed to extend the route from Trimley St Martin to the west.
Aims
The aim of the project is to provide a defined area of the road for cyclists to use when travelling between the town communites.
Outcomes
Physically marking cycle lanes and signing the route will increase drivers awareness of the presence of cyclists and encourage greater cycle use between the two communites.

Status as at 31 December 2008:
Community consultation undertaken alongside preliminary work to allow start on actual works to commence during April 2009.
Status as at 31 March 2009:
- Site clearance complete
- Signing, line painting complete
- Kerbing and pavements complete.
- Project now complete, ahead of schedule
