The Haven Gateway has a relatively high concentration of construction employment and employment in the sector is likely to grow with a forecast increase in employment of around 30% in the Haven Gateway.
Ports and Logistics
The ports and logistics sector in the Haven Gateway is substantial. In total, 38,900 people are employed in the sector, of which 14,400 work in wholesale. The sector also accounts for around 3,900 businesses.
Low Carbon and Renewables
Overall, the Haven Gateway contains a high concentration of employment in the low carbon and renewables sector, particularly in Braintree, Mid Suffolk and Tendring (mostly driven by environmental services and recycling) and in Suffolk Coastal (mostly linked with nuclear electricity production).
Digital, Cultural and Creative
